Compuserve Changes Forums

In a move to redesign its nationwide system of special-interest groups, CompuServe has changed the forum user interface (menus, commands, etc.) to make their system easier to use. Efforts were directed toward producing commands that would be intuitive to forum members, with some of the changes suggested by CompuServe users themselves.

A forum is an electronic messaging system dedicated to a specific subject or industry. Among the more than 150 forums available, CompuServe supports the Atari community with four individual forums: ATARI8 supports news, views, politics and downloadable software for the Atari 8-Bit home computers. ATARI16 provides up-to-the-minute information and downloads for Atari ST and Mega owners. ATARIDEV is where developers of ST software and hardware can pose questions and find answers to problems encountered while creating new products for the ST. And finally, in ATARIVEN, forum members have direct access to third-party manufacturers of software and hardware for the Atari 8-bit and ST. Many times it is possible to communicate directly with a product's author.

CompuServe is educating new forum users with a special forum that is free of connect charges. Typing GO PRACTICE at any main prompt will bring you to the "try-out" forum.
